Surface Slip Stitch

Embroidery-like lines on top of finished crochet. Great for writing, borders, and faux knit details.

Steps

  1. Insert hook from front to back at your starting point; pull a loop of new yarn to the front.
  2. Insert hook in the next point along your line, YO, and pull through the fabric and the loop on hook (a slip stitch).
  4. Repeat to “draw” across the surface. Keep tension even so the line doesn’t pucker.
